UAT & Testing guide - How to find your staging system

How to find your staging system

If your system uses a custom URL (i.e. it does not end with "advorto.com" then please click here to skip to the second section.)

Your staging system follows the same URL pattern as your live system, with the addition of the word staging in the URL. Therefore check your live system to find your root URL and then modify as the per the guide below:

  • Back office login - https://(RootURL)/staging/admin/login.aspx
    • For example, your root URL may look like this in live back office: https://eu1.advorto.com/admin/login.aspx this becomes https://eu1.advorto.com/staging/admin/login.aspx for staging access
  • Hiring manager login - https://(RootURL)/staging/(SystemName)/User/login.aspx
      • (System name) is usually your company name but do check your live site URL for the correct naming convention.
      • You will need to replace "eu1" with whatever is in your live URL in that place
      • Don't forget that if you need to simply view something in the HM portal, you can do so via mimicking a user in the user manager in settings. See below screenshot
                     Untitled.png
  • Candidate portal - https://eu1.advorto.com/staging/(SystemName)
    • (System name) is usually your company name but do check your live site URL for the correct naming convention.
    • You will need to replace "eu1" with whatever is in your live URL in that place
    • This link will take you to the main search page of vacancies, from there you can navigate to the login page or you can apply to a test vacancy to get to the registration/login page.

How to find your staging system if your system has a custom URL

First, you will need to find out your route staging address. You can do this by logging into your live backoffice portal. Your root address is the area highlighted in yellow on the below screenshot:

Use this to find your staging links as indicated below

  • Back office login - https://(RootAddress)/staging/admin/login.aspx
  • Hiring manager login - https://(RootAddress)/staging/(SystemName)/User/login.aspx
  • Candidate portal - https://(RootAddress)/staging/(SystemName)

If you do not know your system name, put a ticket in with support and we can let you know.

Things to remember when using your staging system

  • The staging system does not send emails - as staging is only used for testing, it does not send emails. This however also goes for any "Forgot password" emails that you may request. Therefore, when your account is created you will be given a password that you can then change.
    • Remember that you will need to set a password for any other users you create manually from the user management area of settings.pw.png
  • Your staging system will be an exact replica of the configuration of your live system (with exception of any changes that are being tested that have not yet been made to live). However, data in your live system does not copy across to staging for obvious data protection reasons. Therefore you will need to create test vacancies, requisitions and/or candidates.
    • Support can provide an upload of pre-defined test candidate data if it is required. Please put in a ticket if you'd like this uploaded.
