4.5.17 Release notes - 11 March 2015

Client portal 4.5.17 release notes

Back office user interface

NEW FEATURE: Marketplace
As mentioned in previous release notes, Marketplace is an exciting new Advorto initiative to offer a range of recruitment-related services, such as online tests, background checking, outsourcing, etc., through the system on an ad-hoc basis. A variety of third parties have taken up the opportunity to offer their services through the Advorto Marketplace to Advorto clients and the list will continue to grow. We think of it as the “App store” for recruitment services.

Marketplace will be available to clients following this release, allowing customers to buy a product for specific candidates, rather than having to do any system wide setup or engage in a separate procurement process with another third party.

NEW FEATURE: Vacancy/Requisition view pages
A new feature has been added to allow a page to be added to display a read-only view of vacancy and/or requisition data, including a mix of both requisition and vacancy data if required.

Access to this page may be configured as an icon in the “Actions” column on the Backoffice Requisition or Vacancy list pages.

Note for employees and partners with access to system configuration: This new page is configured under Custom Pages > Vacancy/requisition view in the system configuration tool. Once the page is created, the action may be enabled in the same way as any other vacancy or requisition actions.

Requisition overview page stage links now link to the relevant stage

The “View Stage” links on the requisition overview page found on the RequisitionSummary.aspx page now link to the requisition list page, with the relevant stage selected.

Improvement to the date picker calendar pop-up to allow months and years to be selected
Although users could (and still can) manually type into date fields to change months or years, rather than paging backwards or forwards through the calendar pop-up, this was not obvious to users. This has been improved by adding drop-down lists for month and year to the calendar pop-up to allow any date to be easily selected from the calendar.

Improvement to sorting of dates and numbers on list pages
It is now possible to configure individual columns to be sorted as dates (in date order) or numbers (in number order), rather than alphanumerically. Previously, with alphanumerical sorting only enabled, sorting of these data types was not as expected, e.g. 1, 11, 2, 3 will now be sorted correctly as 1, 2, 3, 11.

Unused menu item removed from requisition tab sub-menu
The “|” character has been removed from the “|User:” menu option as it did not serve any actual purpose.

Candidate portal

NEW FEATURE: CV Upload with LinkedIn integration option
A new enhanced CV upload function is now available, which will allow candidates to use their LinkedIn profile to generate a CV, instead of uploading a document if they wish. This functionality may particularly benefit candidates applying from mobile devices.

Clients wishing to update their CV upload functionality to the new CV upload + LinkedIn option should discuss this with their Advorto account manager.

Improvement to the date picker calendar pop-up to allow months and years to be selected
Although users could (and still can) manually type into date fields to change months or years, rather than paging backwards or forwards through the calendar pop-up, this was not obvious to all users. This has been improved by adding drop-down lists for month and year to the calendar pop-up.

Improvements to multi-lingual functionality on Brochure pages
The drop down list for switching languages will now show on the brochure pages of multi-lingual systems and page titles will now be translated correctly where a translation is entered.

Improvement to drop-down list-based searches
Selecting an item from a search field using a drop-down list, such as “Chester” on a vacancy search page would previously also match “Manchester” as the search logic used partial text matching. Where search fields are based on a fixed list of options, this will no longer be the case, so in this example, selecting “Chester” will now only return vacancies in Chester.

Improvement to UI when performing free text search on specific fields
Free text search on specific fields on list pages such as vacancy search etc. would clear the search value after completing the search. This has now been addressed so search terms will now continue to be displayed.

Vacancy user role fields now available to be displayed on all key pages
A number of list and detail pages had an issue that stopped vacancy user role fields from being displayed correctly. This has now been addressed, so these fields may now be reliably selected where required.

Minor performance improvement of full text search
Full text search previously searched some data multiple times. This has now been rectified, which will result in a minor improvement to performance.

Fixed vacancy details styling issue affecting Internet Explorer (IE) compatibility mode
An issue that would cause text to “bunch up” rather than being displayed in separate rows when viewing vacancy details pages in Internet Explorer compatibility mode has been fixed.

Single click button errors in certain IE instances fixed
Some people were having issues with single click buttons in the system, e.g. Submit, Next on the Vacancy eligibility page, etc. This issue only manifested in certain versions of IE11 and will no longer occur.

Issue downloading document from vacancy information page
If an old style (Front End File Upload rather than File Upload) is downloaded from the vacancy information page the apply button fails when clicked afterwards. This will resolve this issue for any upgraded clients which have not yet had their file upload fields migrated to the new style.

Backoffice

Browser information added to event log on login
The user agent (browser) information is now added to the event log whenever a user logs in to allow more detailed reporting on which browsers Advorto users are using. This will aid in prioritising and troubleshooting issues as well as advising clients when issues related to use of specific browsers or browser versions are identified.

User portal

Minor improvement to data submission performance
A small part of the data submission process was previously duplicated. This has been removed which will make saving or submitting screening form, interview forms, etc. complete more quickly.

General

User password synchronisation
The passwords for users who have accounts for multiple clients on the same instance are now consistently synchronised when they are changed in any part of the system.

Integrations

Launchpad integration no longer requires comments to be added
The Launchpad integration previously required comments to be entered within the Launchpad interface. This is now no longer the case.
